Oblivion Film is a 2013 American science fiction film co-written, produced and directed by Joseph Kosinski and based on his unpublished graphic novel of the same name edited by Radical Comics. It stars Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Zoë Bell, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The film was initially scheduled to release on July 10, 2013. Since the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park was set for a July 19, 2013 release date, the US release date was moved forward to April 19, 2013. According to Kosinski, Oblivion pays homage to science fiction films of the 1970s.
Summary
In 2073, the former commander of the 37-year-old Marine, Jack Harper (Tom Cruise), is one of the last unmanned aircraft mechanic stationed on Earth. Earth was almost destroyed in an alien attack 60 years earlier. As part of the massive rescue operation residual Earth's natural resources, he lived in a "city" air hovering thousands of feet above the surface. When his mission is almost complete, freedom Jack disappeared after he rescued a 22-year-old foreign girl (Olga Kurylenko) from the plane that crashed. The arrival of the girl created a series of events that forces Jack to question everything he knew about the war and its impact. In addition, after being captured by rebel leader Malcolm Beech (Morgan Freeman) 102-year-old, Jack was told that the people who have inhabited it could be a police state.
